Chapter 13

~ July 31st - 1:45 PM ~
With his keen hearing, The Keeper detected the rumbling and humming of a human motorized device on the main road. Standing still, the vibration from the ground told him it was heading toward him. He turned his head toward the path that led to the cabin. There was no visual yet.
With the vibration from the ground leading up to his feet, The Keeper noticed that the machine had slowed down as it made the turn onto that road. The Keeper recalled that not long ago, Remi had been bouncing around excitedly, chirping about how Zoe was coming to the cabin. 'Who is this Zoe?' he wondered. He reminisced About the information his daughter had given him. Pushing the air out of his lungs, 'it took a while to get her to calm down. That girl will be bouncing all over the woods before she finds rest!' he thought as he pushed the air out, his noise so loud that his wives turned their heads. Glancing at him, waiting to see if he would have anything to say.
