Chapter 13

• ALYSSA'S POV
• Her room was different again, and she didn't know if she liked the shadows from earlier better. For the first time, the bed canopies were rolled down, peach-colored silken curtains barely concealing the flower petals strategically arranged.
• The windows were slightly ajar, just to allow minimal air through. She guessed it was to protect the dozens of candles dotting the floor. Alyssa would have found the arrangement beautiful, probably forge a craft about it the next time she got her hands on some clay.
