Chapter 12

• She dropped her knife so I kick it away to the far side of the room and turn on my heels to go to the light switch but before I can, I hear her get up so I look over my shoulder and see her use the poster on the bed to swing herself sideways and her boots come straight for my face before I can react and the impact knocks me down to the ground and I feel the blood run down my chin from my lip. As I turn on my back to sit up I feel her body collapse on mine and I see she has another knife that is coming straight for my chest so I grab her hands before she can follow through with it. She’s using her entire weight to drive the blade down so I take a calming breath and use my elbow to punch her across the face causes her to fall off me so I quickly get up and run to the light switch but just as I get there I see the knife get thrown into the light switch panel so I look behind me and see her running at me.
• Just as I turn around she hooks my leg cause me to fall backwards against the door that comes off its hinges and collapses to the ground, dammit, I need to get the upper hand back. I stumble backwards as she hooks one of my arms and swings herself around me and uses the wall behind me and her feet to painfully twist my body around and to the ground. She’s trying to break my arm so I take a small breath and use my larger size to my advantage and twist inwards towards her and knee her in the ribs which makes a pained groan escape from her. I stand up and the second that I do I see a fist coming for my face so I block it and throw a few of my own that she mostly dodges and counters with a few kicks to my stomach, damn they hurt but nothing I can’t handle.
