Chapter 260 Tessa

  • The roar of the engine was the only thing filling the silence of the mountain pass until the cough started. It was a wet, rattling sound that came from the passenger side. Tessa slammed on the brakes, the tires screaming against the gravel. She hadn't been alone. Roy was slumped against the door, his face a terrifying shade of gray, sweat beading on a forehead that had been porcelain only an hour ago.
  • "Roy? Roy, talk to me." She reached over, her hand pressing against his neck. His pulse was a frantic, irregular thrum.
  • "The car... keep going," he wheezed, his eyes fluttering. "Get to the... the main road. I’ll be fine."
