- Madison was barely looking at the food. She watched the condensation drip down her water glass, her mind spinning with the speed of the last twenty-four hours. Across from her, Bentley looked entirely too comfortable, as if rewriting the hierarchy of his empire was as simple as breathing.
- "Bentley, we need to talk. Seriously," Madison said, her voice dropping to a cautious whisper.
