• “She doesn’t dare fire me, but she doesn’t want me around. So she’s been trying every trick to make my life hell—make me feel like staying at the company is worse than death, push me to quit on my own. That’s her whole plan.” Ben Walton said it casually. He’d already guessed what Jolene Pennkowski was scheming. She knew full well that as long as Vincy Shaw was there, she couldn’t, and wouldn’t dare, kick Ben out. She respected Vincy the most, so she wouldn’t fire him. But she was desperate to drive him out. She didn’t want him touching the company, so she kept looking for ways to trip him up and grind him down until he couldn’t take it and left. That was her goal.
