Chapter 4 I Have To Find Her(2)
- "No, in fact everything got complicated. I didn't find her, and now I don't know where she could be... I have to find her." Diego growled, squeezing the device in frustration.
- "I need you back to take care of everything. Your flight is scheduled for today and..."
- "I know, but she... Listen, I need more time. She may be in danger, alone on the streets..." Diego tried to explain, but he was interrupted.
- "That's not my problem," he heard a growl on the other end of the line, followed by a long sigh.
- "Diego, I agreed to let you make this trip alone because you're one of my best managers, but I need you back right now. I'm leaving on a trip today, and I need you to take care of everything abroad. If you're so worried about the girl, hire a private investigator to find her."
- "Of course," Diego took a deep breath. "I'll do that. Don't worry, I'll take my flight today."
- "Good." The call ended.
- Diego stood still for a moment, listening only to the beep of the line.
- "Mr. Ortiz?" Diego heard a voice calling him from behind. It was the bank representative, holding a bundle of papers. "Will you make the purchase?"
- "Yes, yes, of course," he reacted with a start, quickly entering the house.
- Diego had made a long journey with the sole purpose of finding Isabella Sinclair. It wasn't that he wanted that house; he was only buying it because he thought maybe Isabella would like to have it back, as it was her parents' house.
- All this situation was overwhelming for him, and unfortunately, he had found out about everything too late. Diego couldn't stop thinking, imagining what calamities the love of his life might be going through.
- Isabella stood paralyzed, with the small bag in one hand and the envelope with the letter and the cruise pass in the other, while those two men looked her up and down with malice in their eyes.
- "I'm so sorry, Isabella, it was either you or me," Jade said, with a downcast expression.
- Isabella looked at her friend, the only person who had reached out to her in the last few days, had betrayed her. However, she could see that the girl had some bruises; surely the men had forced her.
- Jade turned around and left, leaving Isabella with those horrible men.
- The young woman took a step back, terrified, and immediately, one of the men entered the small room, licking his lips, which disgusted Isabella.
- "Relax, princess... If you cooperate, it won't hurt as much," he growled maliciously.
- "Oh, I like it when they fight, it excites me more," the other one said from further back.
- She clenched her fists, holding onto the things she had in her hands tightly. That suitcase and the envelope wouldn't help her defend herself; her eyes filled with tears as she realized there was no escape.
- The man grabbed her by the neck and pushed her, making her hit the back wall. His face got closer to hers, mouth open and tongue sticking out, causing her to gag.
- "Do I disgust you, b*tch?" he growled angrily, pressing his face even closer to hers, which caused more gagging as she felt his foul breath. Filled with courage, the man raised his hand, fully intending to hit her, when out of fear, instinctively, Isabella kicked with all her might right in the man's groin, causing him to let go due to the pain and fall to his knees.
- Isabella barely had time to catch her breath when she noticed the other man walking determinedly towards her, fists clenched.
- Quickly, she threw herself onto Jade's cot, reaching under a stuffed pillow, and by the time the man lunged at her, Isabella found what she was looking for: a small electric stun gun that Jade kept. She stretched towards the man, releasing a shock that made him tremble.
- The second man fell to the ground convulsing. Isabella looked at them for a moment, still not believing what had just happened. How did she get rid of those men? How could she?
- She saw one of them trying to get up, and in a panic, she quickly grabbed the small suitcase and the envelope with the papers to run out.
- In the hallway, she saw Jade crying, but Isabella didn't stop; the fear was so overwhelming that her body, her legs, only urged her to run and get away from that horrible place, which she mentally prayed never to have to return to.
- Several minutes passed as the young woman ran through the streets, shedding tears, not looking around, pushing people on the street, when the sound of screeching tires abruptly stopping halted her.
- Through her tears, she could only make out a dark car coming towards her, seeming to want to stop. There was no time to jump or resume the race; Isabella just squeezed her eyes shut tightly.
