• I was surprised that she knew about something like this for a second before I remembered that she was a fanatic. She read almost all the crazy books and stories about us, so she had an idea of what one looked like already.
• Before I could think of any answer, she was already by my side in a flash. Her expression softened, and to my surprise, there was no fear in her eyes. Only curiosity and something else I couldn’t place.
