• "Ethan, you take point," Alexandra said, her voice a whisper in the low light. "Nadia, cover from behind. Jade, keep near and monitor their motions.
• Their goal weighing down them, they moved in quiet tension. Ethan waved a hand abruptly to tell them to halt. His eyelids closed and he said, "There's movement ahead."
