• As Alexandra headed home, the evening draped over the city like a heavy blanket, throwing deep shadows across the streets. Though the triumph against The Architect had been difficult, the sensation of relief was ephemeral. She couldn't get rid of the impression that something waited to surface in the shadows.
• Restless even with her tiredness, Alexandra turned and turned back at her flat. She kept replaying images of the rooftop struggle and The Architect's terrifying comments. "You cannot endlessly keep the city safe." Like a specter, the menacing message loomed large.
• Alexandra arrived at headquarters early the next morning; her mind still racing with future ideas. Already there, deep in conversation over the most recent intelligence were Ethan and 7Nadia.
