Chapter 1939 Everyone’s Happy

  • For Marcus Crawley, now that he knew what was going on, there was only one path. No matter what, he had to find a way to nail this. Only if he truly pulled it off could he call himself a real hardcase. Otherwise, he was just trash. And for Marcus, that was something he could never accept. He would never let himself turn into a loser—or worse, a piece of garbage. If he ever became that kind of man, what would be the point? Real masters don’t let crappy things happen. If they do, what kind of hardcase are they? A true hardcase stares down everything and doesn’t blink. Only by getting that strong could he lead the sect to rise. Only if he actually got them there would he be the baddest of the bad. Otherwise, why even call himself a hardcase?
  • If you claim to be a hardcase, it’s not just about being tough yourself. You’ve got to do one more thing: no matter what, you’ve got to lead your people to rise too. Only when everyone gets strong does the leader count as the strongest. If, right now, they couldn’t even do that, they were toast. For the Azure Cloud Sect to rise, this was the one shot. If they landed that token this time, they’d rake in a ton of benefits. For them, that would be huge. Only by pulling it off would they become top dogs. Otherwise, they were just a pack of losers. Marcus Crawley could never accept that. He would never let himself be trash. So he had to lead the sect to rise. Only when the sect truly rose could he claim the top spot. Otherwise, what was the point of being sect master?
  • Since he’d come here and taken the mantle, he had to show some backbone. Right now, what he needed to do was actually simple: turn these people into real hardcases. Only if they leveled up would the Azure Cloud Sect have hope. Otherwise, it would stay a junk sect forever. If that happened, it’d be a royal pain. So they weren’t going to let that happen—no question. If they couldn’t even manage that, Marcus had no right to call himself a hardcase. If he claimed the title, he had to take everyone up with him. If he was the only one strong, it didn’t mean much. A sect can’t rise off one guy’s shoulders. No matter how badass Marcus was, he couldn’t be everywhere at once. So he had to become the kind of hardcase who makes everyone stronger. Only if he became the fighter-jet of hardcases would he be truly unstoppable. Only when every person got tough would the sect have a future. Otherwise, they were a bunch of dead weight. And if you’re willing to be dead weight, what’s the point?
