Chapter 93 The Price Of Power

  • The days that followed the meeting with the elders were filled with uncertainty. Meher felt the heavy burden of their words weighing on her, but she couldn't shake the fear that gripped her heart. The prophecy, the Heartstone, and the darkness that threatened to consume everything—it was all so much, so overwhelming. It was as if the world itself was unraveling before her eyes, and she, with the Heartstone’s power, was expected to mend it. But at what cost?
  • Every time Meher closed her eyes, she saw the swirling shadows of the Shadow Wolves, their eyes gleaming with malice, their hunger never satisfied. And beyond them, she saw the dark veil that had begun to spread over the land, creeping from the edges of the world, growing stronger with each passing day.
  • The village had returned to a semblance of normalcy, but Meher knew that peace was only temporary. The wolves had retreated, but they would return. The prophecy had spoken of two forces—light and dark—and Meher had come to understand that she, and the Heartstone, were the center of that balance. The choice between light and dark, creation and destruction, rested in her hands.
