• "Landon, let’s talk to the princesses that I have invited," mother said easily as she touched me by the arm.
• I slowly retracted my hands from hers. This was not how I wished the night to go. Looking around frantically for Daisy, I noted that she was engaged in some hot words with one of the princess, who I couldn’t care less about her name. I knew she was about to cry, but she was trying to be strong. It was a trait that I admired, but I wish she would just drop it.
