• “It’s done.” Alexander informed Martha through their mind link. “Marcus and Lilian are dead.”
• Alexander leaned close to Marcus body, which was shrinking with each passing minute. “Hmmmm. I’m sorry this had to happen to you. But I can’t let you take over my pack. I wish it was someone else, I truly wish it was.”
• A knock sounded on the door, jolting him from his thoughts and Alexander opened it to let Martha in. With two large duffel bags in her hands, she grinned widely when she saw Marcus and Lilian lying dead on the bed.
