Chapter 10 My Woman

  • That icy voice belonged to Zhan Senyu.
  • Qi Yushi felt strange - haven’t I only met Zhan Senyu just a while ago? Why do I feel so relieved that he’s here when I’m in this difficult position?
  • Cen Ziming lifted his head, only to be met with cold, sharp eyes belonging to a refined and good-looking man, warning him to comply with his words. Feeling rather threatened, he loosened his grip on Qi Yushi’s wrist instantaneously.
  • Qi Yushi immediately scurried over to Zhan Senyu’s side the moment she was free.
  • Zhan Senyu’s eyes softened a little upon seeing Qi Yushi obediently leaning towards him.
  • “Have you met with some trouble?”
  • Qi Yushi shook her head, not wanting to get Zhan Senyu involved. “It’s nothing, just a misunderstanding. Let’s go.”
  • Just then, Cen Ziming eyes widened in shock as he recognised the man before him as Zhan Senyu - being the young master of the Guangsheng Real Estate himself, he was familiar with the significance and prowess that this man wielded. His father had even made many attempts to cooperate with the Zhan Family to no avail - just how did Qin Yushi get involved with someone like him?
  • No - I can’t let them go just like that. Qi Yushi, that woman...she wronged my beloved!
  • “No, I’m afraid it’s not a misunderstanding - I saw you push Yuhan. Do you call that a misunderstanding?” Ziming sneered. He then turned to Zhan Senyu. “Young Master Zhan, don’t you know that this woman has been constantly getting in the way of Yuhan and I for the past year? This isn’t the first time!”
  • Qi Yushi was shaking with rage - never had I thought that a person I once loved so dearly would turn his back against me so viciously like that!
  • Zhan Senyu remained indifferent, his cold eyes flashing as he snaked an arm around Qi Yushi’s slender waist and pulled her closer into his embrace. He laughed coldly: “She’s my woman. She can do whatever she wants.”
  • Qi Yushi’s heart leapt in surprise at his words, lifting her head to look into his deep eyes.
  • He’s...he’s actually helping me.
  • Cen Ziming frowned slightly at this affectionate display - I don’t know why, but seeing them so close like this makes my heart hurt a little.
  • It’s as though I am slowly losing something that was mine...
  • Seeing Cen Ziming getting lost in his own thoughts, Tao Yuhan softly called his name. “Ziming…”
  • Cen Ziming immediately shoved those thoughts aside. He stepped forward and said: “Wow, is this how Young Master Zhan defends his woman?”
  • “If I don’t defend my woman, what do I do? Defend yours?” Zhan Senyu retorted, coldness underlying his ridicule. “What makes you think you have the right to teach me how to treat women?”
  • His words were like a slap to Cen Ziming’s face.
  • Alas, Cen Ziming dared not disrespect Zhan Senyu - after all, he was the young master of the L.N. Group. If he were to offend him...Guangsheng Real Estate would be in danger. Besides, he had already acted too rashly and went overboard earlier.
  • Cen Ziming immediately retreated - he bowed his head, not daring to make eye contact with Zhan Senyu. “I’m sorry, I have disrespected you.”
  • Zhan Senyu glared at them in disdain, before turning to leave with Qi Yushi, his arms wrapped firmly around her.
  • As they disappeared into the distance, Cen Ziming appeared to still be in a state of dilemma. Seeing this, Tao Yuhan clenched her teeth in exasperation - why won’t he go after them? Masking her infuriation, she pouted pitifully at him: “Ziming...are you going to let them go just like that?
  • This time, Cen Ziming did not try to appease her. He simply said: “If you bump into Qi Yushi again, just ignore her. Don’t let her hurt you.”
  • Tao Yuhan obediently nodded her head - her eyes turned cold.
  • Time is running...I need to get rid of Qi Yushi once and for all.
  • Zhan Senyu did not utter a word on the way back.
  • Coldness seemed to radiate from him as he kept complete focus on the road ahead - he’s in a bad mood.
  • Qi Yushi wanted to explain the situation to Zhan Senyu, but swallowed her words as she was too scared to say anything with him behaving in such a terrifying manner.
  • Was I in the wrong - wait, aren’t we just in a fake marriage? Why would he be so angry?
  • Alas, vague guilt settled in her head for making him mad - I ought to properly explain the situation to him.
  • Alas, she hesitated throughout the entire journey back - by the time they reached the mansion, she had not uttered a single word to him. Stopping the car, Zhan Senyu exited without waiting for her - meekly, Qi Yushi trailed after him. By the time she entered the mansion, he had already gone up to his bedroom.
  • Noticing his demeanor, Butler Shen asked Qi Yushi: “Mrs Zhan, is Young Master Zhan not in a good mood?”
  • The look that the young master sent him as he walked through the doors was so cold that he felt like he had nearly jumped out of skin.
  • They were alright when they had left the house - but they returned walking separately, one person in front of the other. Besides, the look on the young master was terrifying - it’s obvious that something had happened between them.
  • Qi Yushi bit on her lower lip, a little embarrassed: “I think it’s my fault...I made him angry.”
  • Butler Shen chuckled. “No worries, Mrs Zhan, a simple apology will do. Even though Young Master Zhan appears cold and distant, as long as you give him a sincere apology, he’s actually a forgiving person.”
  • But it’s kind of strange...Young Master Zhan isn’t usually this bothered. Besides, we’re talking about Mrs Zhan here, someone who has a special place in his heart - just what could it be that has gotten him so worked up?
  • Apologise? I want to, but...Qi Yushi recalled Zhan Senyu’s icy cold eyes and simply couldn’t muster up the courage to do so.
  • Qi Yushi went back to her room to soak in the bathtub - as she bathed, she found herself thinking about him; he didn’t really eat anything all night, I wonder if he’s feeling a little hungry?
  • Should I bring something up for him to eat? He’d already done so much for me, from helping me to buying so many clothes for me...aren’t I being ungrateful if I ignore him just like that?
  • Zhan Senyu’s room was just beside hers; Qi Yushi padded over to the front of his door, raising her hand to knock on the door - only to lower it.
  • Just as Qi Yushi was about to return to her room defeatedly, she found herself unable to give up just like that - she sucked in a breath and turned towards Zhan Senyu’s room once again, trying to muster up the courage to knock on his door.
  • “What.”
  • An icy male voice sounded.
  • Qi Yushi felt the hairs on the back of her neck stand - she looked around, only to find herself indeed alone in the empty corridor. It was then she was certain that the sound came from the room.
  • Qi Yushi hesitated for a while before she softly asked: “Zhan Senyu, are you hungry?”
  • Silence. Just when Qi Yushi thought that he was not going to respond, Zhan Senyu coldly replied: “I’m not hungry.”
  • “Oh, alright.” Qi Yushi said in defeat - she had wanted to take the opportunity to talk to him under the pretence of bringing him supper, only to be turned down so quickly. Not knowing what to do, she bowed her head, resigned as she slowly walked towards the door.
  • “Come in,” Zhan Senyu suddenly said.
  • Perhaps it may have been Qi Yushi’s own naive thinking, but the voice did not seem to sound as cold anymore.
  • Qi Yushi opened the door and poked her head in - the lights had not been turned on. Zhan Senyu stood in front of the window, leaning against it as he looked at her, his gaze never shifting.
  • She walked inside - standing in the darkness, she did not know what to do next.
  • It was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop, save for the sound of Zhan Senyu’s breathing - Qi Yushi felt like her heart was about to jump out of her chest.
  • “Talk.”
