Despite having given in and accepted that his son marry Victoria, Mr. Andrew is a little uncomfortable that Vicky has no family and is a simple girl with no family name; As his wife mentioned when they met, Mr. Clark was penniless, however, he really likes to keep up appearances.
On the other hand, seeing his wife Elizabeth's face so peaceful and with her nerves controlled, he has no choice but to agree to the marriage taking place exactly as the date that Jeremy has established, by virtue of which he must return her all his money without consideration he wonders if he would be doing the right thing in returning all his fortune.
Something deep down tells him that Jeremy has not changed at all and continues to follow the same irresponsible Casanova as always and that this marriage with Victoria is a complete farce and he will surely not keep his word to form the family that they want so much.
