Chapter 2 No Please

  • ALPHA'S CHAMBER
  • Alpha Orion just finished freshening up,he left the bedroom and proceeded to the lounge, the rain was still falling heavily and how much he would have wished to go into his office at that moment, there are lots of things he needs to check out.
  • “Even if you don't care about me,can't you at least pity yourself and rest?”
  • His wolf,Asher let out a scoff in his head
  • “What,did you get hurt?”Orion asked
  • “Oh wow,so fast of you to ask”Asher said and Orion could imagine him rolling his eyes
  • “You've never gotten hurt,so why should I ask?”Orion asked
  • “Of course,I wouldn't. You know those rogues are too tiny for me to fight, but can you stop thinking about anything and rest? You're disturbing my peace”Asher said
  • “I can think whenever I want to....”
  • “No you can't! Coz you're almost breaking my ears!” Asher snapped
  • Orion let out a deep sigh, knowing that it was no use arguing with his wolf.
  • "Fine," he said, giving in. "I'll try to relax for a little while." Asher let out a pleased growl, and Orion felt his wolf settle down in his mind. The two of them had always had a close bond, and it was reassuring to know that Asher was there, even if they didn't always agree on everything.
  • Almost immediately,a knock came on the door and he looked up,
  • "Yes?"
  • The door opened and one of the guards standing by the door entered,he bowed
  • "Prince Milo is here Alpha" he said
  • "Let him in" Wang said
  • The guard immediately went out, seconds later Milo walked in.
  • He's the oldest son of the late Alpha and was supposed to be the next Alpha if Orion wasn't born with the Alpha blood. They never got along well enough like brothers anyway, including his second brother,Dane.
  • "What an August visitor" Orion said calmly
  • Milo smiled and touched his shoulder
  • "Stop acting like you're so happy to see me" he said
  • "I didn't smile, and I'm not happy to see you either, brother" Alpha Orion said and Milo nodded
  • "I heard about the rogue attack, too bad I found out late" Milo said
  • "It was a piece of cake, you don't have to worry about it" Alpha Orion said
  • "Of course I'm not worried,I know the type of brother I have.....you wouldn't get hurt" Milo smiled, the cunning smile which Orion hates a lot
  • Alpha Orion only maintained a straight face
  • Milo's smile turned into a smirk as he realized his brother wasn't going to take the bait. He decided to change the subject.
  • "I will take my leave now,be safe...kid brother" Milo smirked at him before going out.
  • Alpha Oroin rolled his eyes and left the lounge,he returned with his smoking pipe, which filled the air as soon as he started smoking.
  • The door opened again and this time,Xander entered.
  • "Are you okay?" Xander asked
  • Apart from being Orion’s Beta, they were childhood friends and also best friends. Even with that,he knows when to drop the thoughts of them being friends, when Orion uses his alpha's dominion voice,no one would dare look into his eyes, including Xander himself.
  • "I'm fine," Orion said, taking a deep drag of his pipe. He let the smoke out slowly, savoring the taste. "Just needed some time to myself."
  • Xander nodded, understanding.
  • "It's been a tough day," he said, sitting down next to Orion. "The attack was unexpected, and the losses were heavy."
  • "We knew this was a possibility," Orion said, his voice grim. "The rogues have been getting bolder lately. We need to be prepared for more attacks."
  • "I agree," Xander said, his brow furrowed in concern. He smiled and walked over to the wine cellar
  • "Care for a glass?" He asked
  • Orion sat down and continue smoking, after nodding to Xender’s question
  • "You should find out how those rogues were able to get in through the city gate" Alpha Orion said
  • "Okay, but do you find anything weird?" Xander asked, finally settling down opposite Orion, the two glasses of wine placed on the table
  • "I don't want to feel that way,or it's going to be bloody" Alpha Orion muttered, puffing his smoke into the air
  • Xander's eyebrows shot up. "What do you mean?" he asked, his voice sharp with concern.
  • "You can't possibly think it was an inside job, can you?" Orion took a long drag on his pipe, blowing out a plume of smoke.
  • "I don't know what to think," he said, his voice low and tense.
  • "But something doesn't feel right. I can't put my finger on it, but something is off." Xander sat back, considering his friend's words.
  • "You're not just being paranoid, are you?" he asked, his tone light but serious. "
  • Xender smiled
  • "Then let's just wait and see" he said, sipping from his glass.
  • "Geez, this rain makes me feel good" Xender groaned and Orion chuckled, taking a sip of his own wine.
  • "It's nice to be able to relax for a moment," he said. "The last few weeks have been so hectic."
  • "That they have," Xander agreed.
  • "Between the training, the patrols, and the attacks, we've all been run ragged. But I think we're doing a good job. The people of the city feel safe, and that's what counts." Orion nodded, his expression thoughtful.
  • "You're right," he said. "It's not just about keeping them safe, it's about making them feel safe. If they feel like they're in danger, then we haven't done our job properly. It's about more than just fighting off threats, it's about giving them a sense of security." Xander took another sip of his wine, his expression thoughtful.
  • "That's a deep thought," he said. "I'm not sure I ever thought of it that way before."
  • "I guess that's the difference between a beta and an alpha," Orion said, his lips curving into a slight smile. "We each have our own unique perspective on things."
  • Xander let out a soft laugh. "You're not wrong there,"
  • "And I'm glad to have you as my beta," Orion continued. "Your perspective helps me see things in a different light, and I appreciate that. You're a valuable member of this pack."
  • Xander felt a warmth spread through him at Orion's words.
  • "Thank you, Orion," he said, his voice sincere. "That means a lot to me. I'm glad to be a part of this pack." The two men sat in comfortable silence for a moment, enjoying the sound of the rain and the warmth of the fire.
  • **
  • Star Pack Meadow**
  • "What are you doing?! Hurry up and work!! No food for you if you don't finish up!" The guards yelled at the workers, even in the heavy rain
  • The meadow is where the omegas work,it's a large farmland with different plantations.
  • While few Omegas get the luck to work in the palace as maids, most of the omegas spend their whole life working in the meadow. Both young and old,men and women, some even get sold off in the process because they are useless in the pack as believed.
  • "Oh please, have mercy," one of the workers said, his voice hoarse from exhaustion.
  • "We've been working all day, in the rain no less. We're just trying to take a moment to rest."
  • The guard sneered.
  • "You're not allowed to rest until the work is done," he said, his voice harsh.
  • "And if you don't get back to work, I'll make sure you go hungry tonight."
  • "I'm tired" Tamara,Adella’s best friend said beside her
  • Adella couldn't reply either, she had to work extra portion today because her mother is down, and the guards wouldn't even care if she die while working,so she dedicated herself to do her mom's portion along with hers. The rain was hitting her body badly, aside from getting weak And tired, she was already freezing.
  • "Don't worry, Tamara," Adella said, trying to sound reassuring. "We'll make it through this. We just have to keep working." Tamara nodded, her eyes still filled with fear and exhaustion.
  • "I'm just so tired," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I don't know how much more of this I can take." Adella put a hand on Tamara's shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze.
  • "You're strong, Tamara," she said. "You're stronger than you think. We'll get through this together." Tamara said
  • "Enough!" They heard the voice after many minutes and everyone let out a tired sigh
  • Some fell on the cold ground to regain their breaths while some couldn't wait to go inside. There are buildings close to the meadows where the omegas stay, even though the only time they get to enter is in the night after their daily work. They have to wake up by 4am the next morning to start from where they stopped.
  • Countless dead bodies would be found every morning, each single day, they die and will be buried like birds of no value.
  • The omegas are well known for being too skinny and tiny due to being underfed, which results in most of the deaths. They only get to eat once in a day, that is after working few hours in the morning, they get to eat and get back to work, till the next day
  • Adella and Tamara made their way towards the buildings, their bodies aching and their feet dragging. As they approached the door, they were met by one of the guards.
  • "Get in line!" he barked, gesturing towards a long line of workers that had already formed. "You'll have to wait your turn." Adella and Tamara exchanged a tired look, then obediently took their place at the end of the line. They knew there was no point in arguing, it would only make things worse.
  • So they stood, shivering in the cold, as the minutes ticked by.
  • Finally, it was their turn. Adella and Tamara approached the door, their shoulders sagging with exhaustion. The guard standing there took one look at them and frowned.
  • "You look half-dead," he said, his voice gruff. "Did you even get any work done today?"
  • "We did what we could," Adella replied, her voice barely above a whisper. "We're sorry if it wasn't enough."
  • The guard looked them over, his eyes cold and calculating. "You'll have to do better tomorrow," he said, his voice like ice.
  • Suddenly a strong hand grabbed her,she wanted to scream but the hand immediately covered her mouth and Adella’s eyes widened.
  • She was pulled away into the nearest bush, and finally she get to see the person,it's one of the guards who have been making countless advances toward her
  • "What do you think you're doing?!" Adella yelled
  • "You think I was going to give up,I'm only going to f**k your tight p**sy,don't bother to struggle because nobody will hear you" The guard said and Adella shook her head
  • "No....please" she pleaded in a broken voice,she can't loose her innocence in such a shameful way,never
  • The guard started tearing off her clothes as he pinned her forcefully to the cold ground
  • "Please!!" She cried
  • "Shut up!" He slapped her and her mouth bursted
  • Adella felt her heart pounding in her chest as she tried to break free from the guard's grasp. But he was too strong, and she was too weak from exhaustion. She began to panic, her mind racing as she tried to think of a way to escape.
