Chapter 1 The Woods
- In the middle of the woods, the field was trembling, the ground was bloody, and the surface of the earth was covered with a whole pack of rogues who had come for the purpose of attacking the moon pack,so unfortunate they were sent to their early grave so fast.
- The rogues had thought it would be easy to overtake the small pack of wolves, but they had not anticipated the fierce resistance they would meet. The moon pack had fought with a ferocity that surprised even the most battle-hardened rogues.
- The moon pack warriors all stood still, watching the unmovable bodies of the rogues on the ground in their own pool of blood.
- One by one, they started shifting to their human form, bones cracking, bodies rippling like liquid as they rearranged themselves into human forms.
- Everyone changed and groaned out in relief at being back in their human bodies. The air was filled with the scent of blood and sweat, and there were several injured wolves. The fighters gathered around the wounded, doing what they could to help them.
- Leaving just the big, large, white wolf mixed with grey, he kept on walking gently in between the dead bodies, observing one after the other, half of his face was stained with the blood of his victims, that's the alpha, another big wolf standing close to him was just trying to know the alpha's next move: the Beta.
- "That was more like an exercise," One of the warriors said, and everyone laughed.
- The laughter was a release of the tension and fear they had all been holding on to. For a moment, they could forget about the dead rogues and the injured pack members. They could just enjoy the feeling of victory.
- They continue talking loudly until a loud and angry howl hits the air and circulates round the wood.
- The warriors immediately went on their knees, trembling.
- "Forgive us, Alpha," They all chorused at once.
- The grey-black wolf shifted back into being a human, and immediately his beta also changed back, standing next to him.
- The large wolf, now a man, was frightening in his fury. His face was scarred from the battle, and he bore the marks of many wounds. But it was his eyes that were the most terrifying. They were a deep, dark red, the color of blood.
- "What were you thinking?" he snarled, his voice deep and dangerous.
- "How dare you laugh and celebrate while my warriors lie wounded and our enemies lie dead at our feet?" Alpha Orion snarled.
- "We're sorry, Alpha," one of the warriors said, his head bowed low. "We didn't mean to disrespect you." The Alpha's eyes were filled with rage, and he seemed like he was ready to attack at any moment.
- "Your apologies are meaningless," he said, his voice low and threatening.
- "I should punish you for your disrespect. I should tear you apart for your insubordination."
- The warriors trembled in fear, knowing that the Alpha was capable of doing exactly what he said. They knew that he was known for his brutal punishments, and they did not want to become victims of his wrath.
- Alpha Orion ran his fingers into his hair and turned to his beta, Xander.
- "Is there anything you want me to do?" Xander asked.
- "Order the clearing of the bodies," Alpha Orion said in his usual Low and cold voice.
- "Yes, Alpha," Xander bowed.
- Alpha Orion left his sight and quickly sped to the horse close by,he climbed on it, and the horse made a satisfactory noise.
- Xander turned to the warriors and gave them orders to clear the battlefield. The warriors were relieved that the situation had been diffused, and they hurried to obey Xander's orders.
- As soon as the bodies had been removed and the battlefield was cleaned,
- "Back to the castle," Alpha Oroin said to the guards.
- "Yes, Alpha!" They all chorused, and as soon as the Alpha's horse took off, they followed at the same pace.
- Xander turned to the warriors who were still on their knees; he's the Alpha's second in command and also given as much respect as the Alpha himself.
- "You may rise," he said, his voice calm and authoritative. The warriors slowly stood up, their eyes still filled with fear.
- "Let this be a lesson to you," Xander said.
- "The Alpha is not to be disrespected, no matter the circumstances. He is our leader, and we must follow his orders without question."
- The warriors nodded, understanding the importance of what Xander was saying. They knew that disobeying the Alpha could have disastrous consequences, and they did not want to repeat the mistake they had made.
- "Get up," He ordered and the warriors all stood up.
- The warriors all bowed in respect.
- "Willow, keep things in order," Xander said to the warrior commander.
- "Yes, beta," Willow said.
- "Good job, everyone," Xander said and left their sight.
- He hopped on his horse, and the remaining guards marched behind him as he left too.
- **
- As soon as Alpha Orion entered the castle gate, a heavy rain started falling.
- "Cover the alpha!" Damien shouted immediately,he's the best guard and also the most trusted guard by Orion in the Pack.
- "Don't bother," Alpha Orion said and pulled the horse, giving him the sign to go.
- Everyone watched as their alpha sped up, getting drenched by the rain.
- "What are you waiting for?! Follow up and make sure he gets to his chamber safely!" Damien ordered.
- "Yes, Commander!" The guards answered and zoomed off.
- Even though the alpha is believed to be the strongest in the pack, it's still the duty of the guards to protect him even with their lives.
- Alpha Orion stopped the horse right in front of his chamber and climbed down.
- Everyone bowed right away.
- Orion tapped the horse gently, and the horse walked away.
- "What are you doing? Prepare a hot bath for the alpha immediately." The old Luna, Adelaide, appeared with her maids.
- "I'm fine, mother" Orion said.
- "The alpha shouldn't be down, and you know that," Adelaide said.
- Adelaide was the only one who could talk to the Alpha in such a tone. As the Alpha's mother, she had a special place in his heart, and he listened to her words carefully.
- "Down? Me?" Orion chuckled, and Adelaide smiled.
- "As much as I trust you, please let them take care of you," She said.
- Alpha Orion nodded and left everyone's sight.
- Adelaide turned to the maids.
- "Hurry up." She glared at them.
- "Yes, Luna." They bowed and immediately went After Orion.
- Old Luna Adelaide turned to her special maid, Naomi, as they began walking back to her chamber; Naomi was holding the umbrella over their heads.
- "You said you wanted to tell me something," Luna Adelaide said.
- "Yes, Old Luna, Princess Royalty sent a note that she will be visiting soon," Naomi replied.
- "The Alpha princess from Water Pack?" Adelaide asked immediately.
- "Yes, Luna," Naomi replied, and Adelaide smiled.
- "I hope the Alpha gives her his attention this time around," She muttered.
