- The first punch landed square against my ribs, but I barely felt it.
- Cassian was relentless, coming at me again, his fists like hammers aimed at my gut. I dodged, my body moving instinctively, muscles tightening, the thrill of combat igniting my senses. He grinned, sweat glistening on his brow, and I answered with a smirk of my own before driving my fist toward his shoulder. He blocked, but the force still sent him staggering back a step.
- “You’re in a good mood,” he panted, rolling his shoulders as he circled me. “Considering what happened last night.”
