Chapter 49 Like You Can

• Alexis couldn't hold back her tears as she made her way to the roadside. Her heart ached badly after all that Eric said. She knew more than anyone that Eric had a missing girlfriend, but she wanted to still try her luck. She told with the few hours they spent every day that she was finally getting his attention and heart. Hearing him reject her so publicly hurt. She can't even remember when last she cried. She did cry, but tears of joy, not heartbreak.
