• Eric, after his chores, decided to pay Grandma Clara a visit and also get food for her since Loverina was missing. At least, he thought it was the least to do, since Loverina was still nowhere to be found. He feared what the old woman might do if the news got to her.
• “Take this to her, she must be hungry!” Ruth handled a flask to her son and kissed his forehead.
• She knew how disrest her son looked. He must have been crying and overthinking. Loverina was his everything. That was what he boasted of, and he always made sure she was happy. Eric looked dull and his cheeks had fallen. He hardly smiled. Even she was worried. Loverina was helpful too whenever Mia, her daughter, was away. Ruth stood by the door and watched Eric until he was far enough.
