Chapter 6
- Walking into the Coffee shop with Kat, Damon led her to a corner and went to order coffee. Kat looked through the window, watching cars parked at the lot. The city where she grew up looked the same. It hasn't changed a bit.
- "I'm happy you're back. Are you back for good?." Damon asked, sitting across her as he handed her the coffee cup. Kat smiled and collected the coffee. She sipped a little and dropped it on the table.
- "No. Just here for a temporal business." She told him. Damon smiled back, nodding.
- "We missed you. Since you left, it seemed like everything I knew left too. Well, Noelle and Helena left. Then you left too. We lived our lives as nothing happened, but deep down it felt like something had left us. The world had no meaning, but we gotta live our lives. Have you seen him yet?." He asked, carefully watching her, her expression didn't change, it was normal. He was relieved to find out she'd got over him for killing her parents.
- "I'm here for business. Though I know I won't hide from him because we do business together, it won't take a long time to find me out."
- "Aiden isn't that sensitive anymore. Like right now, he's pretty occupied, coupled with the fact that Clara came back three years ago, before then, he was empty but now, she made him move on. But I don't think he moved on from you, he's always honoring the death of the people he killed years ago."
- "Wait, His ex is back and he honors my parents' death on their anniversaries." Kath put the words together.
- "Yes. But they aren't dating, he just found her a friend." Damon replied and she scoffed, leaning her back against the chair.
- Kat blinked, she didn't know which one to find the most interesting, the girl who caused him pain or the way he attended to her parents' death anniversary on her behalf.
- "Wow. Aiden is such an interesting soul." She voiced out her thoughts, then smirked.
- She picked up the coffee cup," As I said, I'm here for business." She said, then drank the remaining content inside the cup.
- Aiden Smith was walking along the street when his eyes landed on a stall, showcasing different pots of flowers. His eyes squinted as he tried to recall something. Then his mind flashed back to the graveyard.
- The flower he didn't remember to investigate. He quickly phoned his private investigator. After talking to him, his phone rang. It was Sandra, from the D**x company.
- "I'm here, where are you?." She asked after he picked up.
- "I'm nearby. Give me 10minutes." He stated, then ended the call and started walking faster than usual.
- As he got close to the small restaurant, he saw her through the glass, sitting at a table. He pushed the glass door open and walked in.

- Standing in front of a grave was Kathleen, with her hand into her pocket. Though she didn't think Damon lied about Aiden, coming to the grave every 14th February of the last five years, she wanted to see for herself. And here she was.
- Her phone vibrated and she took it out of her back pocket and picked it up.
- "Hello, Kathleen." The familiar voice said. Her eyes twitched when she recognized the voice.
- "What do you want, Lucas?." She asked, with a cold voice. Lucas cleared his throat, "I called to check up on you and I'm also in Seattle." He revealed.
- Kat raised her brows, "What are you doing here?." She asked him carefully. Lucas was supposed to look after Nicole.
- "Come on, don't act like you don't know. Are you planning on opening the branch today without my presence?." He asked back, tactically. Kat sighed, "And my daughter?."
- "Nicole is with her grandma and in the hands of Carolyn."
- "Okay. Welcome to Seattle, then." She curtly said to him and ended the call immediately. She turned and walked out of the gate of the cemetery, meanwhile, a certain man who hid behind a tree took pictures of her, entering a cab.

- Reaching her hotel room, She pulled off her coat and handed it to Sandra. She walked further into the room and sat on the bed.
- "Lucas will come to the party tonight, do you know?." She questioned Sandra, who nodded.
- "Yes. He already called me and I sent him the address."
- Kat didn't say a word, her mind was elsewhere. She was going to meet Aiden Smith after five years, then about Lucas seeing them together made things seem worst. Lucas and Aiden don't get along at all. Well, for Lucas, Aiden was someone who broke her heart and for Aiden, Lucas was her second chance to find love again. So what'd happen tonight worried her.
- Sandra poured wine into a glass and gave it to her, "I spoke with Mr. Smith today, we signed the agreement and our businesses are allied with each other."
- Kat sipped the wine with a smile, "Aiden is a businessman, and a businessman grabs an opportunity when needed." She chuckled and looked up at her.
- "And my dress for the party?."
- Sandra walked to the door and opened it, a lady pushes a rack into the room. Kat waited until the dress was revealed for her eyes to see.
- "An elegant dress for a beautiful woman." Sandra mused, looking at the dress admirably. It was an exquisite fishtail evening dress in light blue. Looking at the hands of the lady was an expensive diamond necklace. Kat slowly dropped the glass on a stool and stood up, slowly stepping up to them. Her eyes rose with admiration, "Must cost a fortune."
- "Befitting for a Houston." Sandra said, and Kat scoffed, "I'm a Garrido." Kat corrected her and smirked.
- "We own it tonight. Prepare the car." She ordered and walked straight to the bathroom.

- It was seven o'clock in the evening at the location of the new company. Inside the hall, harbored fine men and women with great connections and influence. The whole place sparkled with businessmen and women, which of course, most of which gossiped in groups, two or three.
- "It's so beautiful to extend the Denx group to this place."
- "They're already taking over the country. I heard the youngest child of Houston is the one handling the company."
- "What do you expect? since their only child rejected her father's offer to take over but foolishly ran away with her lover. I heard the grandchild came back five years ago."
- "It's a fulfillment to the old man. Philip was such a clever, hardworking businessman before he died. It's a relief it didn't get to the wrong hands. His grandchild took after him."
- "Is the grandchild a man or a woman?."
- "No one knows. Whoever the person is, operated behind the adopted grandson, Lucas."
- In the middle of those gossips stood Aiden with Clara they all waited for the party to begin. Soon, words arose from the entrance as people whispered within themselves, it didn't take long before a beauty appeared in front of them, led by Lucas.
- She was flawless, outshone the females in the building with only light makeup. People admired her curves, her tender features, and when she smiled, it was heavenly.
- It was then that Aiden's phone beeped, and as he looked into his phone, he saw the pictures of Kat leaving the cemetery.
