Chapter 7 She's A Badass
- Alex:
- Everything about Lou has changed. I couldn't believe, not in a million years, that this woman standing in front of me could sweep me off my feet, knock the air out of my lungs...again. And this time, as a badass.
- There was nothing soft about her in those brown eyes. I knew she despised me. She hated me and I'm ready to do whatever it takes to get her back. Get my sweet innocent Lou back into my life.
- "Is that a bet?" Louisa laughed, still reeling from my words.
- A small smile crept up my lips. "However you want to see it."
- I'd heard whispers of her meteoric rise to power, how she'd catapulted to the pinnacle of success with ruthless determination. It was crazy, man.
- Everyone knew her as "The Badass" – the enigmatic and elusive owner of Blackwood Enterprises, a business empire that had expanded exponentially under her leadership. Something that was astounding.
- But despite her formidable reputation, she remained a mystery to everyone. She was anonymous. No photographs of her existed online, no interviews or public appearances. She was like a ghost. No one knew what she looked like.
- But one thing was certain – Lou Blackwood was a force to be reckoned with. And I knew, just knew the owner of Blackwood Enterprises was my Louisa.
- Her influence stretched across industries, from real estate to tech, her name whispered in awe by CEOs and entrepreneurs. Yet, she remained invisible to the public eye. She wanted to keep her identity a secret. It'll be easier to move around that way with no one knowing it's you.
- "I'm sorry." I said softly, trying to meet her cold gaze.
- Her gaze snapped up, icy daggers piercing my chest. "Fuck off!"
- The chill in her voice stung, a warning, but I stood my ground. "I can't lie to you. And such wonderful kids–"
- "Oh, let's not go there! Let's not fúcking go there." she snapped, her voice sharp as a razor.
- "Then let's talk about us." I replied, my voice steady and calm.
- Louisa laughed, a cold, mirthless sound that cut deep, that burnt me. "There is no us."
- I sighed. "I want to make things right."
- Her eyes flashed, a spark of anger igniting within them. "You think you can just waltz back into my life? Wow, Mr Salvatore, you must be really delusional."
- "I'll do whatever it takes," I said with conviction. "I want you back. I want us to build a family together. You me and the twins."
- Louisa's gaze hardened, her eyes turning to polished steel. She looked very mean. "Alexander, if you talk about the kids one more time, I'll–"
- She paused as if considering her words, then gave a twisted smile. Despite how dangerous that smile was, warning me to stay back, I couldn't ignore the sexiness in them.
- "I've rebuilt my life, Alexander. I'm not the same woman you left behind. I'm not the same girl that'll melt under your charm."
- "I'll win you back," I smiled. "And talking about charm, why don't we see to that?"
- "Oh really?"she spat.
- "This isn't over," I said, my eyes locked onto hers. "I'm not done with you,"
- "It's been over for years," she replied, her voice cold as stone.
- "I'd like you to prove that." I said huskily. Damn, she was still sexy, short hair and all.
- I walked closer to her. This time, she didn't flinch as I cupped her face.
- Our lips met in a soft, exploratory kiss. Her eyes widened in shock as I captured her lips. My mouth moved slowly, savoring the taste of her. It was a big surprise that she didn't pull away, although she didn't reciprocate.
- The world melted away, leaving only the gentle pressure of her lips.
- I deepened the kiss, my tongue dancing in hers, trying to get a reaction from her. I could feel her heart pulse quickening, her breath catching. Finally, she kissed back.
- Our tongues collided inside each other's mouths . I was filled with insane cravings and longings, desperate passion to have her.
- I haven't kissed in a year. Shit! She's so sweet. I miss her so much. And, I think she's softening. I'm sure it's working.
- Her taste was so addicting that I couldn't help it but go insane.
- She pulled away with a mocking laugh. "Oh my goodness, look at you! You think I liked that. Don't act so smitten before you end up with a broken heart."
- I blinked, confused.
- "Damn. Don't ever kiss me again." She scoffed, shrugging her shoulders. "Or I'll knock your teeth out." She snarled, glaring stonily at me.
- I felt deflated hearing those harsh words from her. Her icy gaze was strangling me. Just when I thought I got through her, we're back to square one. "I'm sorry..."
- "Mommy has a boyfriend!! Yay!" A childish voice squealed from behind. Louisa's cheeks grew hot as she stared at the children behind me.
- I remember seeing them with her – those are her kids.
- "Mommy's boyfriend. I'm Jasper!" The brown haired boy introduced, rushing towards me.
- "I'm Jade!"
- Louisa frowned, tightening her fists. I smiled knowingly.
- "Of course kids. It's nice to see you. " I played along, bending down to their level.
- "Don't you dare, Alex!!" She said from behind me, seething but ignored her, facing her kids– my kids!
- "You both are the cutest! Your mom is awesome!" I smiled, hugging them both.
- "Mommy, can he come over, please! I want to play with him!!" Jasper blinked innocently. I didn't turn to look at her but I'm sure she's definitely glaring at me. I'm going to get my wife back. I'm going to get my babies back. I've been a shitty person, it's time to get things straightened.
- "Actually, Mr Salvatore is extremely busy. He travels around the world. And he's just friend., not Boyfriend. We have nothing in common! He's extremely busy and has no interest in dinners, babies."
- My jaw dropped in shock.
- "So babies, let's go home now." She gritted, pulling them from me and turning resolutely away.
- "He's a nobody to us and we'll not be having his ass in our house." She seethed coldly.
