Chapter 50

• It's been a week since I returned to the mansion, and I've been staying alone. No sign of my husband, Greg. I even checked his social media to see if he was fine, but there was no news, nothing. I had spoken to Grandma over the week, and I realized she wasn't in town. When she asked about Greg, I had to lie to her.
• Life has been peaceful this past week. Diana and I talk every day, sharing stories and gossip. Sometimes I feel a pang of jealousy when she ends our calls to spend time with her husband. She's told me several times to reach out to Greg, just to know how he's doing, but I refused.
• Elliot calls occasionally, too. We mostly discuss books and random topics. He called me again today to discuss a topic we've been studying. I had gotten used to having the house to myself, enjoying the freedom to do as I please.
