• (Allison's POV)
• Scott's eyes were on me as we drove toward his house. I would have said no when he asked me to drop him off, but I didn't know why I had agreed. Maybe I was just returning the favor for how he always walked me home when we were together. The way he had pulled me away from that celebrity replayed in my mind, and I sighed, unsure if it had come out loud.
• I didn't mean to lash out at Scott like that. He was never a controlling boyfriend; I said it in anger, wanting him to know I was no longer the lovesick girl trying to please him. We weren't together anymore, and he had no right to meddle in who I interacted with. I wanted him to understand that.
