Chapter 96 You Were Meant For Me

  • The preparations for my wedding have turned into a full blown party. The sound of singing and beating drumsets fill the air, making it impossible to think. I hated parties, I always have. I headed to the training grounds, needing to clear my head. It’s one hour before supper, but the thoughts swimming in my head make me feel like I’m going mad. The training grounds are locked, warriors mingle with each other in the common areas and the marketplace. I spot my friends in a circle of Lycans gossiping, I rush past them, careful to not get noticed.
  • No soldiers, no sparring, no noise. Just me and the echoes of my conversation with King Aldrich rattling around in my head.
  • ‘If only King Ragnar hadn't interrupted when he did,’ I think, replaying the moment Aldrich's face went white at the mention of my anklet. He was about to tell me something—something important—when Ragnar burst in demanding an "emergency council meeting." The way Aldrich practically fled that garden left more questions burning than answers.
