Chapter 28 Finding Solutions

• I stood frozen in the center of camp, watching as warriors collapsed around me like fallen leaves. The disease spread faster than any of us could have anticipated. From all sides came the sounds of retching and cries of pain as more fighters discovered the red boils erupting across their skin.
• "How many?" Thora asked, looking panicked.
• "Impossible to tell," I replied, watching a young soldier vomit dark blood onto the ground. "We have no way of knowing who's been infected and who's just incubating the disease."
