Chapter 46
- After crying my eyes out, I decide that I don't have to wait another minute here. I pack my belongings, except for what I bought with his money, and leave the card itself on the bed. I search the internet for an earlier flight, but realize that there isn't one. So, I decide to travel to France by train and then to Mexico, straight to CDMX. I'll go directly to where my aunt is and avoid going back to Guadalajara, so I won't run into any of them at the airport.
- A broken heart is very difficult to mend, so I need time to think about how I'm going to proceed with my life. Before leaving, I make sure everything is in order and that I haven't left any trace of myself. I request an Uber to take me to London St. Pancras International station, with my documents in hand and my dignity intact.
- If Ian has chosen his fate, it's his problem. As far as I'm concerned, it will be as if he never existed. I arrive at platform ten, where the train will depart at five o'clock. I'm grateful that I brought my savings with me, at least I'll be able to pay for the train ticket and the one-way ticket to my country. I'll have a few thousand left to get to where my mother is and perhaps later to Jalisco.
