Chapter 106 Locking Horns Without Rhyme or Reason

  • The next day, as soon as I arrived at the office, I learned that Kelly had been released from police custody. This was hardly a surprise, for I had expected such an outcome from the start. Inwardly, though, I was displeased. Perhaps Emil was right that I had to get my priorities right on many things. If I wanted someone to be destroyed for life, doing things small probably wouldn't get me anywhere.
  • Just then, the nosy Lily leaned against me, babbling, "Vivian, Kelly's been released. Do you think she's gonna give you a hard time? After all, the story between you two is now the talk of the town."
  • Sorting through documents, I replied impassively, "I guess she will."
