  • Konner stopped and stood by the window; Terah was outside standing on the shore of the lake. Snow was falling around her, and she just stood there with her face raised to the sky. She wore no jacket or shoes, he noticed. The cooler temperatures wouldn’t bother her, at least if she were at full health they wouldn’t. He frowned and debated on going to explain that to her. His kind didn’t get cold and sick normally, but she’d been deprived of basic health needs her whole life.
