Chapter 8
- Riana
- “I don’t think it’s advisable for you to address the people now… It’s too late, how about tomorrow” Dad whispered as he patted my back and I shook my head.
- “No… I’m going to address them today, they need to know that they’re safe because I’m sure everywhere is filled with tension now that Alexander has announced our separation.” I replied and mom exhaled deeply.
- “I’m so proud of you, whatever reason it is that’s making you leave, I’m sure it’s for the best.” Mom whispered and I smiled softly.
- “Thank you, mom.” She squeezed my hand slightly to show her support and I nodded.
- I was standing at the balcony of the pack house with the little members left watching me with confusion, fear and uncertainty.
- “We’re going to do this for them… I’m going to make sure we make this pack great.” I whispered to Rose with clenched fists.
- “I know a lot of you are scared, I know another lot has left the pack, I know you’ve got questions as to whether the pack can be run by a female alpha… I’m not going to waste your time with fake promises, but one thing I’m going to make sure of is: as your new Alpha, it’ll be the pack before me. I’m going to lay my life down if it means bringing victory to this pack, all I ask for is your support.” I announced, staring at them patiently with my heart pounding heavily.
- Although a few elders didn’t look convinced, seeing dad beside me made everyone cheer as they nodded in agreement and I smiled, hugging dad tightly “I’ll never let you down, I promise.” I whispered and he nodded.
- Soon, everyone left for their houses and I decided to go to bed, knowing tomorrow was going to be one hell of a day.
- “Everything will be alright, you don’t need to worry about anything.” Rose whispered and I nodded as I slowly drifted to sleep, the moment my back touched the bed.

- “There’s a lot of issues going on with the pack, Riana…” Samuel announced as I stepped into the office that dad once occupied.
- I exhaled deeply as I looked around, this office had once been filled with life and now the pack company was almost like an abandoned project.
- “What’s going on?” I asked, Samuel took over his father as the beta of this pack a few years ago.
- “So we took a loan for the launching of a new product, we’re being asked to return the loans, alphas who were involved with this pack are pulling out and it’s all because of Alpha Alexander… My phone has been exploding with calls, a few workers have quit and it’s like a dead end. I don’t know what we can do, this pack is going to crumble if nothing is done urgently.” He explained, packing around and I sighed deeply.
- Just a day and everything is already going awry. This is not how I intend to rule my pack, I came over to make my pack greater and I’m going to do just that.
- “What about dad’s old friends? Have you placed any call across, if we could buy a little time…”
- “The Alpha has been making calls for the past two hours and there’s no change… I don’t think there’s a way forward other than asking Alpha Alexander for help.” He suggested lowly and I shook my head.
- “No, nothing is going to make me go back to my vomit. I’m going to find other ways to liberate my pack. If I go back to him for help then there’s no use being an alpha.” I whispered with clenched fists and he nodded.
- “I’m sorry.” He muttered and I nodded.
- “Find another way, surely there’s going to be another Alpha who can’t be controlled by Alexander…” I pointed out and he scratched his head as he moved back and forth for a moment.
- “I… I think I know… The… The Lycan twins.” He shivered involuntarily after saying their names and the air went tense as I felt chills on my body.
- “The Lycan twins?”
- “Yes, they cannot be controlled by anyone and they have what it takes to help us but… Their problem is they never accept werewolves and the only Alpha they’re partnering with presently is Alpha Alexander.” He explained and I sighed heavily.
- I’ve heard numerous rumors about the Lycan twins, whether true or not, only the goddess knew but I was desperate, it’s either them or my pack crumbles.
- “I don’t think it’ll be a good idea to appear before them, they’re cruel, they kill for no reason and…”
- “Find everything you can about them, now.”
- “But…” he began to protest and I raised my hand. “Now, Samuel.” I replied and he exhaled deeply as he began scrolling through his phone.
- “They appear rarely at parties and their hosted parties, only a few alphas can make it into their packs. They’ll be attending the party being hosted by Alpha Alexander tomorrow and…”
- “That’s it, I guess I’ll be paying my ex-husband an early visit.” I announced and his eyes widened.
- “Riana, no… It’s too dangerous…” He grabbed my hand softly and I shook my head.
- “I’m willing to go through any length just to make sure this pack doesn’t crumble, I’m not going to give in to Alexander and if going to a party and facing them is all it takes, I’m going to do it over and over again.” I announced and he nodded, staring at me with pity in his eyes.
