• At dawn, the corridor was still shrouded in the soft light of early morning. Loraine moved quietly through the hallways, her footsteps barely making a sound on the polished floor.
• She approached Alfred’s quarters and, after a moment of looking around and making sure the coast was clear, she knocked gently on his door.
• Alfred, still very much asleep, opened his eyes and was shocked to hear a knock on his door that early. Nevertheless, he got up shirtless and got to the door.
