Chapter 25
- Daniel's POV
- I stared at the building plans on my desk, but my mind kept drifting. First, Maya. She was checked in, safe for now. I'd always felt this huge pressure, this need to fix things for her. To be strong after our mother died. And sometimes, I just felt... tired. Like I wasn't enough.
- Then there was Sienna. Her quick exit this morning. How she shut down when I asked what was wrong. She was clearly carrying something heavy, something she wasn't ready to share. It bothered me. I liked her hidden parts, the challenge they gave me. But I also worried. I wanted to break down her walls. To show her she could trust me. That I was different from whoever hurt her before. I just wanted her to be okay.
