Chapter 3 Prison
- Chapter 3
- Belinda POV
- I stared at him intently and waited for his reaction
- He just gazed at me back and he had this nonchalant look.
- The glass made him even seems so distant
- "Mike, did you hear what I just said?"
- He was still silent
- "Mike" I called confusion written all over me.
- "Not only did you murder someone you still want to implicate your sister" he finally spoke up
- "Mike don't you believe me? I thought you loved me, why did you……" I was too tired to cry I don't have much energy and I did rather save it then cry so I took a deep breath
- I can't believe even my own fiancée is now doubting me.
- "Mike I…"
- "Enough Catherine already explained what happened to me and I came here for something else" he cut me off
- I suddenly have a bad feeling.
- "What did you come for?" I know there's no point explaining to him again that he will believe whatever he wants to.
- "About our engagement I want…"
- I pulled off my ring before he finished
- "Let's part way" I beat him to it
- He looked at me in bewilderment but quickly change his expression
- "Right? It for the best and it makes it easy for me" he chuckled
- "Don't come begging me" he added
- "How am I supposed to beg you when I'm locked up here?" I smirked he thinks my world revolves around him
- Though I love him and can't bear to part with him, for the best I can't marry someone that doesn't believe in me.
- He doesn't even trust me. He fell for Catherine's lies without giving me a chance to explain myself.
- "I see, well goodbye then Belinda" He stood up and I watched as he left
- I held my chest as soon as he left,it would be a lie if I said I'm not hurt. Our 7 years relationship ended just like that.
- I sniffles "Don't cry remember don't cry for that bastard" I reminded myself but tears clouded my eyes I tried to held it in but it poured out like rain
- I whimpered and wailed, promising myself it will be the last time I will cry for him or anyone.
- I was back in my ward,I listened as my wardmates chatted happily without any care in the world
- I must say they are used to the life here
- Some are on death row some life imprisonment and they are not even bothered
- "Hey 1011" the ward leader called
- She is a very cruel scary woman and her body stature looks like that of a man she must have gymed a lot the bulging muscles is enough to testify
- "Hey 1011" she called again
- I looked around to see who she's calling.
- Here in prison your name is not needed only your number the number displayed on your uniform.
- "Hey" she snapped at me
- I frowned looked at my uniform and realized she was talking to me
- I still haven't gotten used to these digits of a thing.
- "Go easy on her she's new after all" one of them chapped in
- "Come here" The leader waved at me and I moved closer in fear
- "Relax" she chuckled when she saw how nervous I am
- "What...what can...I do for you?" I stuttered.
- "I'm bored I want you to tell me how a young and beautiful girl like you got in here" my eyes flashed with surprise at the gentleness in her voice
- She was always cold so her tone was surprising but it helped me calm down a little.
- We are 6 prisoners in my ward and I saw as they looked at me with anticipation waiting for my story
- "It's my sister we……"
- I narrated everything to them and they stared at me like I am a fool but I don't blame them I am.
- "You are just a innocent little being" the leader muttered under her breath I almost couldn't hear her
- Am I ? Am I really innocent? Maybe I was before but not anymore.
- I saw they believed me and can't help but feel hurt that the man I loved didn't even believe me.
- ************
- "Hello there" I saw someone interrupt my work
- I have been working endlessly since morning and I'm already tired but I can't rest till I finish my work for the day so I can relax.
- I turned to her and saw a lady or should I say prisoner like me.
- She looked rough with her unkempt hair, she was chewing gum and a wild smile was playing on her lips.
- It sent chills to my body
- She was with 3 other prisoners
- '2085' I read her number.
- "Weren't you taught to reply greetings?" She raised her brow
- I know she's not here for any thing good so I decided to ignore her
- "Hey I'm talking to you" she nudged with her elbow and I almost fell
- "You are quite weak, it won't be fun," she hissed.
- "I'm talking to you" she was loud enough for everyone to hear us
- "She needs to be taught a lesson" one of the prisoners with her eyed me
- "Go on, show her how it's done" she commanded them.
- One of them drew my hand and I looked at her in confusion
- The other two held my body in place and before I could register what was going on.
- "Boom" her punch met my stomach
- I groaned as wave of pain hit me
- "Pak" she slapped me not once not twice.
- I started feeling dizzy and tried to fight free but they are too much for me
- She landed my another punch and I almost throw up
- My eyes was already teary and I wasn't seeing clearly
- She gave me another punch on my nose
- And blood came out with ease
- I was already crying and trying to free myself but I kept getting hit each second
- It was unbearable for me
- I was close to fainting when I heard room leader cold voice
- "Who touched my baby?" She yelled with a tone I never heard from her
- They dropped me and I fell on the floor
- Room leader moved closer to check my condition.
- Her eyes kept getting darker and darker as she saw how wounded I am
- She shifted her gaze to the capture
- "You are dead" she screamed….
