Chapter 4

  • Narrator.
  • Briana nodded, sat down in one of the chairs. And he served her breakfast, if she was a child, besides her grandmother no one had ever had such a tender gesture with her.
  • Her boyfriend had never prepared breakfast for her, nor had he ever bought it for her, to take with him during the long hours of study that she spent in the library.
  • She had the notebook he had given her, and she wrote something in it:
  • "Thank you, no one had ever had that detail with me. "
  • “I find it strange what you tell me, I feel that you are a good woman and that she deserves the whole world at her feet.”
  • His words made her blush, she gave him a slight smile and began to eat together with him.
  • After 15 minutes passed, only under the sound of the cutlery clattering against each other: she stood up ready to wash the dishes. He said nothing but whispered a thank you and told her:
  • “I have to take vegetables to sell,” “Would you like to join me?”
  • He took his notebook and wrote:
  • "Yes, is that what you live on?"
  • “I sell vegetables and I also do a lot of remodeling and home repairs. To tell you the truth, I do whatever you ask me to do.”
  • She didn't write anything else and they both went to an old truck that was a few meters away from the house. He opened the door, like a gentleman, and she got in.
  • As he drove, a song played on the radio and for some reason, that gave her the creeps.
  • “You'll always find me
  • In every hug I give you
  • In every step you take
  • It won't be the last time
  • And when you change the place
  • We'll see each other again
  • Even if you say goodbye today, you'll stay”.
  • I began to remember all those moments, lived with Gabriel. The first years had been wonderful. A constant back and forth of superfluous emotions, precocious infatuation illusions that remained just that: illusions.
  • "Gabriel..."
  • She Wailed with her lips open, but as always only silence was participated.
  • Chapter 4
  • (You will stay with me, you will remain in me.
  • No matter how much you say goodbye, you won't leave this place.
  • What was beautiful cannot be erased
  • What is eternal cannot be killed
  • Never forget me
  • I will never forget you
  • Stay in my heart, tattooed in lines of your skin).
  • Esteban looks at her a little worried out of the corner of his eye, he could see Briana's eyes start to fill with tears.
  • "And it's starting to bleed, it'll probably be me.”
  • Crying for the two of us
  • Tears of loneliness
  • Wherever you are I'll come, a great sign
  • You'll stay with me, you'll stay in me
  • No matter how much you say goodbye, you won't leave here."
  • “Many years ago, I had a girlfriend named Camila, I had thought that with her I had found true love. We had enough months together to make me feel in love. So to speak”, he paused, and Brianna watched him curiously “At the beginning... it seems a little strange to me that he didn't want anyone to know about our relationship.”
  • Brianna touched his chest, trying to say she was sorry.
  • “I'm sorry too... I started to get used to the idea of a secret relationship. Maybe she didn't want her parents to find out and have to ask permission, I thought at times. Then I found her in bed with my brother. What an idiot I was... I didn't tell her anything.”
  • Brianna opened her eyes in surprise. They both remained silent, in the background Abel Pintos' voice resounded.
  • “In... that relationship I continued, but hating. Until at one point, they both announced they were getting married and she was pregnant. I confronted her and what interested me the most at that moment was to know if that child she was carrying in her womb was mine. But she even denied that she and I had had anything.”
  • Brianna, took her notebook and wrote:
  • "I'm sorry, she didn't deserve you."
  • After that song ended, I was lost in painful memories.
  • A few minutes later, they had arrived in town.
  • Bree found every house that matched the warmth of the place to be pleasant. She couldn't help but feel, welcome in that place.
  • After a few minutes he parked in front of some kind of greengrocer's shop.
  • “I'll be right back.”
  • He got out of the vehicle and started loading boxes of vegetables, one after the other.
  • Briana got out ready to help, took one of the lighter boxes and started carrying them to the grocery store. Esteban looked at her a little curious and confused, that gesture had filled him with a sensation he had never encountered before.
  • He had arrived quite exhausted, he had collected his money to be able to eat for the rest of the month and pay for the services. He sat down on the large sofa in the living room and said to her:
  • “I will tell you the story of my grandparents:
  • “Joselyn, is forced to marry by her parents' decision. Her sister, who was supposed to take her place, had mysteriously disappeared. Therefore, she was in the room already married, waiting for her husband. The Duke had loved his sister all his life, not her; for this reason he was quite upset.
  • "Although as the days passed, the Duke had hinted with embracing her: Joselyn had refused this contact.
  • "The first time, she began to realize her feelings: when the Duke did not come home at night. That unsettled her somehow, she had never planned to feel anything for him. What lessened her sadness was the barn where her animals were; however, there was someone named Juan, who had confused her.
  • "One day, Juan had a surprise in store for her. He had brought her his mare, and when she saw her, she jumped happily to embrace Juan, who did not hesitate to reciprocate the embrace. The problem was the gossip, the whole house was talking about the embrace between the two. The Duke was aware of them, but it did not affect him so much about the embrace itself; but rather that she rejected him.
  • "The Duke one day while they were at lunch, held his chest very tightly. Joselyn: she had become extremely worried, ran to his aid and he told her it was nothing. Later, when he went to rest, the same doctor had informed her that it was stress. That seemed really strange to him, since it was not a common pain. And that situation only got worse, every so often he would get the same pain.
  • "Joselyn was a very kind person, she often ran away to help the people. Edward, when he found out, followed her and to her surprise: he helped her with her homework. Upon arriving at the house, she realizes that his heart was beating in a strange way; when she asks him why, he ends up confessing his heart disease.
  • "Joselyn, little by little, begins to fall in love with him, in spite of everything. She had strange dreams, where she remembered him when they were little. But those scenarios were a little distorted, because Edward had only eyes for Emma; she saw him always looking at her with love in each of her dreams.
  • "Everything was coming along well, they were even getting along better. They had agreed to be friends, still nothing was happening between them. However, everything changes: with the appearance of her cousin Ana. Who installs a series of doubts in her, insecurities. On one occasion she decides to get away from him, she goes to the forest many hours away. He finds her, without realizing it, both begin to engage in a tender romance: she is lost in the caresses of the duke.
  • "Upon returning, they were both lost in each other.Joselyn, she can't deny that she loved him; although there was still the doubt,if he had feelings for her.
  • "One day when she returns to her room, she sees Edward kissing Ana. That makes him go away from that place, he takes refuge in his driver's house. When he returns, he learns that he was very sick. He had had a serious relapse due to the fright of not finding her, Ana confesses to him crying that she had done it to make him separate; however, she did not want to hurt him.
  • "Joselyn stayed by his side for weeks and then learned that she was pregnant. But when news reached her that her parents had passed away, she said she embarked on a long journey to find out about some doubts. She discovers through some letters, that she was actually his sister: she had been replaced because she had a spinal disease, they were afraid of losing the dukedom. She realizes that Edward: he was in love with her all his life since he was a child.
  • After spending two months at her side, he wakes up. But just like that , he opens his eyes, and learns that she was pregnant, he closes them."
  • She took the notebook and wrote:
  • "Is the child your great”grandfather or something?"
  • He nodded wistfully.
  • Brianna the next day, she was feeling a little better.
  • The sun, hitting her full in the face, there was no window in that room that could prevent otherwise. Despite that uncomfortable moment, she stretched, closing her eyes, tighter.
  • He rested both feet on the cold floor, waking up immediately. He curiously contemplated every corner of the room. It was a little strange to be in a place where her usual things were not there.
  • Looking around, she was holding the door handle. For some reason, she had the constant fear of not being able to open the door in a moment. But every time she put her right hand on the cold metal, it gave way smoothly.
  • A rich aroma caught her. She looked around the kitchen in confusion. As soon as she set foot inside, Esteban looked at her with a broad smile.
  • “Hello, good morning.”
