Chapter 111 6: The Truth About Mates

  • “And when I looked back up, she was gone.” Zera finished her narration of things to Aaron, who had sat quietly for the last ten minutes listening.
  • He got home over an hour ago, and after dinner and helping Zion with his homework, he tucked him into bed before returning to the bedroom. He had noticed her moody state all the while they were in the dining area, despite her attempt to cover it up while they ate. He said nothing, and she knew it was because Zion was at the table with them. She knew she would have to find a way to tell the truth as soon as they were alone, despite not knowing how to go about it. As soon as he stepped into the room ten minutes ago, she told him she needed to confess, and though taken aback by her bluntness, he didn’t stop her.
  • “I think it’s getting worse,” she admitted. “I am sorry I didn’t say it quicker. I thought I could handle it, but as it turned out, I can’t, and it’s messing with my mind, and I want you to know about it.”
