- The Black Valley pack is surrounded by a forest where the trees are ancient and primeval. Thick clouds covered the broad sky, dyeing the trees black-green. The sky looked lower than usual, making people feel depressed.
- The damp, oppressive air enveloped us. As we walked, there was a disturbing smell of blood in the depths of the forest.
