Chapter 79

• I wanted to call her, but was unable to say a word. She sat on the cold floor, and carried me onto her thighs. I thought I had exhausted my ability to cry, but to my surprise, more tears made their way than my cheeks. I wanted to ask where she had been the whole time, but couldn't make it out. She carried my weak figure into her arms, and just as she made to stand up, father walked inside.
• "Princess." He called out, not looking the least bit apologetic. "Come here." He stretched his hands out to me, but I was too weak to move.
• "I think you've done enough harm." Mother bit out angrily, but he pulled me out of her arms nonetheless.
