Chapter 62 I’ll Leave the Door Open

  • The following week passed without me turning on my phone even once. Since I was staying at Hansel’s house, every morning started with a run with the siblings—Hansel and Sandra. We would move on to split kicking, and then I’d toss concrete dumbbells while the other two practiced martial arts.
  • I hadn’t expected myself to pull through the entire week, but with Sandra holding her wooden club at all times, I forced myself to endure the training. After all, tossing the chunky concrete dumbbells only felt physically exhausting, but if I were to be struck on the shins by her wooden club, I would have to suffer an excruciating pain; it was enough to drive me insane, but it did not injure me.
  • I’d wake up at 4 in the morning and hit the hay by 10 at night; aside from the morning jog and split kicking, I’d spent the entire day tossing dumbbells. As soon as I slacked off, the wooden club would hit my shins, sending me into agonizing pain. And so, I had no choice but to use up all my body strength every day. I’d be completely burned out by night time, and I would doze off immediately in bed, falling into deep sleep without even dreaming.
