• "Mom, I'm ready. What's going on with you today? Why are you suddenly helping me pick out clothes? Did something happen that you didn't tell me about?" Hayden pondered for a moment and finally asked Nicole. He had been thinking about this for a while and couldn't figure out what he had done to cause his mother's sudden change.
• "It's nothing. I just realized that I haven't spent much time with you lately, so I thought we could do something together." Nicole was taken aback by his question.
