• Why fight it anymore? That was the only thing I could think about. I had tried to be mean to Gwen. I had tried to stay away. But being an asshole just made me feel worse. It made me angry and tired.
• We were stuck here together. There was no point in making it hard for myself. Why should I suffer? We were in a small world far away from real life. Nobody else would ever know what happened here. Once we left, everything would go back to normal. I would never see her again. So, I decided to stop fighting. I wanted to enjoy her while I could.
