Chapter 7 Cutting Ties
- Glancing at the ornate headpiece and dress, Leon let out a cold snort.
 - "The Collinses? What a joke."
 - Suddenly, a grim voice came from outside.
 - "Who dares to belittle the Collinses? You've got some guts!"
 - With that voice, a young man in a wedding suit walked in, giving Leon a cold stare.
 - "You country bumpkin, last time I brushed you off, I didn't think you'd show up here, causing a scene on my big day. You really got the nerve."
 - The young man was none other than Samuel!
 - "You motherless piece of trash, I'll teach you a lesson!"
 - Leon frowned. "Watch your mouth, stop talking crap!"
 - Samuel's face was twisted with anger. A bumpkin like him dared to argue back? If this got out, where would I put my face?
 - Leon's disrespect made him feel insulted.
 - This kind of country bumpkin, like some stray mutt not even worth the lowest rung of society, should've been kissing up to Samuel like a dog.
 - "Sure enough, a country bumpkin. Raised without manners, huh?
 - "Well, today I'll teach you a lesson and let you know the difference between respect and disrespect!"
 - With that, Samuel approached Leon and slapped him across the face!
 - With Leon trying to snatch the bride in front of everyone, if Samuel didn't give him a good beating, he would be laughed at.
 - Today, Leon had to be taught a lesson!
 - Smack!
 - But here's the twist: Samuel was quick, but Leon was quicker!
 - Before he could even swing, Leon had already landed a slap on his face!
 - With a loud smack, Samuel spun around and fell to the ground.
 - Half his face puffed up as he sprawled on the ground, coughing up blood and a few teeth.
 - That slap was much harsher than the one he gave Nova earlier!
 - The Simpsons went quiet, dumbfounded. Who would've thought Leon would actually hit Samuel? Is he crazy?
 - Samuel lay there, his head buzzing, seeing stars all around.
 - "You little bastard! You dare to hit me, I'll f*cking beat you until you're crippled!"
 - Before Samuel could finish, Leon stepped forward and stomped directly on his face, nearly knocking him out cold.
 - Leon said coldly, "I told you to watch your mouth!
 - "It stinks so foul. You don't need this mouth anymore!"
 - With that, Leon viciously ground his foot onto Samuel's mouth, instantly shattering all of his teeth, causing him to pass out from the pain!
 - Everyone was bewildered. How could Leon, a poor boy from the mountains, be so fierce?
 - He never showed this kind of temper before when he visited the Simpsons!
 - It was Lillian who reacted first, quickly rushing over to push Leon away.
 - "Leon! Have you lost your mind? How dare you hit Mr. Samuel?
 - "Do you know that our Simpsons are on the verge of bankruptcy? We're counting on the Collinses to help us out!
 - "You hit Mr. Samuel. Who will help our Simpsons now?"
 - Leon sneered, "The Collinses are helping you? They're barely keeping themselves afloat. They wouldn't have the energy to spare for you.
 - "If the Collinses have a problem with me, they're welcome to come find me!"
 - Leon's words were downright arrogant.
 - The people of the Simpsons were speechless. No one would take a country bumpkin like him seriously.
 - If it weren't for him having some use for the Simpsons before, they probably wouldn't have let him through the door!
 - He's acting all high and mighty. Doesn't he know his place?
 - Leon grabbed Yamila's hand and said, "Mila, come with me."
 - Yamila raised her head awkwardly, a hint of indifference in her eyes. She pulled her hand back and said coldly, "I'm not going."
 - Leon's expression changed slightly.
 - "Mila, what happened that day was a misunderstanding. I found the security footage. Take a look!"
 - With that, Leon quickly took out his phone and showed her the footage from that day.
 - But Yamila waved her hand, sending Leon's phone flying and shattering on the ground.
 - With a cold expression, she said, "Leon, don't bother. Even if I don't marry Mr. Samuel, I won't marry you."
 - Leon's expression changed instantly, and his eyes filled with confusion.
 - "Why? Because I'm poor?"
 - Yamila scoffed. "Yeah, you got it right. I don't fancy you. Are you satisfied now?"
 - The thought of Nova carrying Leon's child made Yamila feel nauseous.
 - She even said such heartless words to Leon, wanting to completely sever ties between them.
 - Yamila continued, "Leon, who I want to marry is my own business. So, stop bothering me from now on."
 - After saying her piece, Yamila turned away, refusing to even glance at him.
 - Lillian stared at him, saying, "Leon! Did you get that? My daughter wants nothing to do with you from now on. So, quit bothering her!
 - "Just get out of here now, and don't you dare show up at our place again!"
 - Watching Yamila walk away, Leon's expression froze for a while.
 - Then a wry smile of irony crept onto his face.
 - "Okay.
 - "From now on, we're done. No more ties."
 - Leon glanced at the Simpsons.
 - He continued, "Back when Old Mr. Simpson went up the mountain to seek medicine, my master, before passing away, entrusted me with saving your entire Simpsons.
 - "Now, ten years have passed, and I have fulfilled my promise.
 - "Starting today, I'm cutting ties with the Simpsons. Whether you all live or die, it has nothing to do with me anymore!
 - "If any of you get sick again, don't bother coming to me."
 - With that, Leon walked away without a backward glance.
 - "This useless guy dares to threaten ... "
 - Just as Leon left, Emery's face suddenly changed.
 - She spat out a mouthful of blood!
 - Everyone's faces turned pale, and they rushed forward to support her.
 - "Mom!"
 - "Grandma!"
 - "This Leon with his jinx mouth, daring to curse our family!"
 - "It's all Leon's fault, making Grandma so angry she's spitting blood!"
 - "Why is Grandma's blood black?"
 - Everyone rushed forward, and, upon seeing the black blood Emery had vomited, their faces turned grim.
 - Could it be that the strange illness in the Simpsons hasn't been cured after all these years?
 - If what Leon said about the illness not being cured is true, doesn't that mean they still need this poor boy's help?
 - Emery waved her hand.
 - "It's nothing. Everyone, don't overthink it. I've probably just been a bit too worked up these past few days."
 - Everyone nodded. With all the recent ups and downs in the family, from the brink of bankruptcy to now, it was understandable that Emery might be feeling a bit overwhelmed and getting sick.
 - Nova covered her face, feeling utterly embarrassed today. She gritted her teeth in frustration.
 - "Leon, that spineless loser, really doesn't know his place. Offending the Collinses, he's just asking for trouble from them!
 - "Hehe, that kid's life or death doesn't concern us anymore."
 - Hearing this, Yamila clenched her fists.
 - The mist in her eyes had yet to dissipate. Cutting off ties with Leon today was not what she wanted.
 - If anything were to happen to him, Yamila would surely be devastated.
