• Days had turned into weeks ever since they saved Lily. A fortress, the Walker house was now watched over by security around-the-clock. Jacks and Charlotte slept little since they were continually keeping an eye on Lucy to see what she would do. But after days passed without an incident, they began to believe they were safe.
• One wet evening, Jacks returned home following a meeting with Detective Collins. Finding Lucy, who looked to have vanished into thin air, was no closer. The windscreen smashed when he pulled into the driveway. There was a dark figure watching the house under a tree.
