Chapter 3 Crumbled
- Chapter three
- ~With two crumbled souls seeking redemption…~
- Mirabel adjusted the flowers and sat down leg crossed next to her brother’s grave. It has been one week since Carl passed away but Mirabel still couldn’t believe it that her little brother was gone. She glanced to the left of his grave towards her mother’s and father’s grave and the tears poured down with more intensity.
- “Mira..” Sandra whispered as she leaned her head against Mirabel’s shoulder. Sandra wills was her best friend and brother’s fiancé.
- Sandra wills and Carl had been high school sweethearts and despite being long distanced due to their respective career, Carl as a doctor and Sandra as a biomedical engineer, they had stayed strong and had moved in together once they had finished their studies. Carl had proposed to her a year ago and Mirabel could remember how happy they all were.
- Her family were ecstatic. Sandra had been her only true friend despite the four year two year age gap between them. Carl and Sandra had their entire life planned before them.
- Mirabel couldn’t even begin to understand her best friend’s anguish.
- Mirabel pulled Sandra closer to her and hugged her. Mirabel’s life had been upside down for the past two years now; she lost almost everything and everyone that she held so dear to her.
- It started with her fiancé, Frank Grey. They fell in love; well she did, when they met on the first day of their medical school. They be some inseparable. Frank was every girl’s dream come through, with his muscular body of over six feet, dark brown hair and brown eyes. He was her first but she wants him to be her only. He did become her only when he proposed to her during their internship program but he was hers only up till the start of their residency. Their hospital had a transfer resident, Ella Salvatore. Frank cheated to Mirabel for four months with Ella before she caught them screwing each others head off in one of the restrooms.
- Ella had openly apologized saying she wasn’t aware of their relationship while Frank had stood there without batting an eyelash. He didn’t approach her once. Mirabel had removed her engagement ring, had thrown it at Frank’s face and had walked out of there. She refused to believe the crap that came out of Ella’s mouth. Given they were all doing their residency at that hospital, words didn’t fail to go round.
- Everyone knew about Mirabel and Frank’s relationship. Mirabel had taken a transfer from there and had come to Springworth East hospital, pushing them in her past and threw herself into her training. A month later she heard the news of their engagement. She had drunk herself into oblivion that night.
- However, things didn’t end there, after completing her residency, Ella took a job Springworth East Hospital, she tried to strike up a friendship with Mirabel but Mirabel avoided her at all cost.
- A year and half after that incident, she lost both her parents in a car crash.
- It had been a heart wrenching time but Carl and Sandra had been with her and the three of them had made it through but now with Carl gone, she only had Sandra who was even more devastated than Mirabel.
- A sob wrenched through her body as Mirabel crumbled into Sandra’s embrace.

- Rickard groaned as Rosalie, Micheal’s wife pulled aside the curtains, letting the light stream in, killing his eyes and head.
- “Rickard, it has been a week.” Rose said as she looked around the guestroom and pursed her lips. The dinner she had sent in last night was still on the table, untouched. A sixth bottle of whiskey had joined the pile after she had it cleared two days ago.
- “Rose close the damn curtains!” Rickard groaned as she tried to shift his sight away from the curtains view.
- Rose glared at him. She opened the windows to air out the room. It smelled like a cheap bar.
- “When did you last shower?” She asked, standing at the door of the bed.
- “Day before..” He grunted as he tried to get up.
- “I don’t want the godfather of my son to die of liver failure.” She glared as she kept her hand on her seven month pregnant belly. She shook her head as she watched his failed attempt to sit up straight. She helped him into a sitting position as she sat down next to him.
- Rosalie took in the appearance of Rickard. He had full grown beards now and bags under his eyes which were bloodshot and swollen. He badly needed a haircut.
- Rosalie never liked Hannah, they had met so many times, double dates and family dinner.
- She remembered the disgusting look on Her face when Micheal and her announced their pregnancy. She knew that woman was trouble but she also knew how deeply Rickard had fallen for her so she kept her opinion to herself. When Michael had lugged a drinker Rickard’s through the door last week, Rose Har immediately known that Hannah was the curse of his current state. And when she heard the whole story, she became raged. How could she kill an innocent child just for her selfishness gain? She wanted to chop that bitch into pieces. Then tears had flown when she thought what Rickard must have gone through.
- “Look Rickard, we have given you a week to get your shits together, and now I’m standing my foot down. Enough is enough. That bitch doesn’t deserve a single tear you shed for her. I know I can’t even begin to understand your pain when it comes to the loss of your child, but you need to stop all this.” Rose said as she waved her hands around the room.
- Rickard simply stared at her, trying to bring her concerned face into focus.
- “Okay,” Rickard groaned. The pain was too much. It was like someone had sawed open his chest with a blunt knife and then ripped out his heart. He was beyond enraged at Hannah and then, there was the loss of his unborn child. He knew he had to keep his distance from her because God forbids he will rip her head off with his bare hands once he saw her. The worst part was that his heart bled for her as well. He had loved this woman with everything but she had thrown all that to the pit.
- “Shave and shower, then come downstairs. Breakfast would be ready soon.” Rose said as she patted his cheeks and stood up to leave.
- After making himself resemble a decent human being, Rickard came downstairs, leaving that room after one week.
