Chapter 14 It Gets Weird Real Quick

• I felt so disgruntled, unsure of what I had in mind to do tonight. Aunt Marie had just called to tell me that my father had gone MIA. I didn’t know what to make of such information. Did this mean that he was indeed guilty of killing Mom?! Shivers ran down my spine at the thought. How could he do that to a woman he once loved?
• ‘I think you are going too fast’, my subconscious scolded. Fine. Maybe he wasn’t guilty. But then, why was he running? I mean, a clean heart feared no accusations right?
• I was about to go into the bathroom for a bath when my phone began ringing. Quickly getting to it, I looked at the screen to see Detective Jake’s caller ID. It was weird. A surge of conflicting emotions stirred within me, but I felt tingles in my belly like the butterflies in my belly were having a party or something.
