Chapter 8 Selling Her Sister Out

  • Theresa was about to open the door when Eric reached out and grabbed her wrist.
  • “What are you doing?” Theresa exclaimed in disgust as she pulled her hand free and dusted off the part where Eric grabbed her.
  • Serena, too, was staring at Eric in confusion.
  • Eric had no idea what state the werewolf inside the room was in, so barging in without caution could result in them being attacked.
  • Werewolves tended to be easily angered, especially when they were in their werewolf form. Animalistic instincts would replace their rationality, and they would be prone to shockingly destructive behavior.
  • If the werewolf inside the private room happened to be in werewolf form, then Theresa would likely be torn to shreds after opening the door.
  • “What the f*ck is your problem, Eric? Step aside! Vivian is still inside!” Theresa shouted impatiently.
  • Noticing the scents of a few live humans inside, Eric figured he was probably overthinking things. Since he didn't smell any blood, he figured the werewolf was most probably in human form.
  • Even so, he kept his guard up as he opened the door.
  • Because he used a little too much force when opening the door, the wooden door produced a loud bang when it hit the wall.
  • Everyone inside the private room turned toward the door when they heard the noise.
  • Shocked by Eric's actions, Theresa and Serena quickly stepped in front of him to apologize.
  • Eric scanned the room and saw a total of four men and a woman.
  • The woman was kneeling on the ground while a man, who was sitting on the couch, used her as a footstool. The others were seated around him and having some drinks.
  • “Vivian!”
  • Both Serena and Theresa went pale with fear when they saw Vivian kneeling on the ground.
  • Vivian burst out crying when she looked up and saw her mother and sister.
  • The man resting his feet on Vivian pushed her head down with his foot and shouted angrily, “Did I give you permission to lift your head?”
  • He then shifted his gaze toward the three standing at the door and arched an eyebrow as he said, “You three must be the family members of this b*tch, huh? You sure are bold for kicking my door open like that!”
  • Serena was furious when she saw him humiliating Vivian like that, but she didn't dare lash out at him because she recognized the people inside the private room. They were all heirs of the most prominent families in the city, and they were all treating the man with the utmost respect.
  • At that point, it became clear that he was not someone she could afford to mess with.
  • “I'm sorry we got a little emotional there. You've already punished Vivian for what she did wrong, so could you please let her go now?” Serena asked cautiously while inching her way forward.
  • “Let her go? Why should I? Because you asked me to?” the man retorted coldly.
  • Serena was about to say something when Theresa cut her off. “Victor has already spoken to you guys about this, hasn't he? Even if you don't respect us, you guys should at least respect Victor!”
  • The man paused in confusion and asked those around him, “Who's Victor? Do you guys know who that is?”
  • The other three exchanged glances with equally confused looks on their faces. One of them said after a brief pause, “I do know a guy named Victor. He's from the Carnap family. I see no reason for us to show him any respect, though!”
  • “The Carnap family? You mean the one who was following you around like a puppy before?”
  • “Since when did that punk get so bold? How dare he ask Mr. Aleph to show him respect? Is he not afraid of Wolfe Group crushing his family beneath its heel?”
  • Aleph Wolfe was the man who used Vivian as a footstool. Through that brief exchange, he was able to get a rough idea of what was going on.
  • Oh, so these people got a nobody to help them and are demanding that I show him respect? What a joke!
  • Serena, too, found out about Aleph's identity in the process.
  • Her heart was filled with fear and despair when she realized she had offended a member of the Wolfe family.
  • Now I see why Victor had left in such a hurry! He knew about the Wolfe family being involved, so he ditched us before we confronted these people!
  • Theresa had yet to realize the gravity of the situation, though. “That's right! Did Victor Carnap not talk to you guys about this?”
  • Serena let out a sigh and closed her eyes in despair.
  • Sure enough, Aleph kicked Vivian aside and yelled angrily, “He didn't tell us sh*t! Also, the Carnap family isn't worthy of my respect!”
  • Theresa was so frightened that she took a step back in response. “H-How about we pay you, then? You wanted us to pay five million, right? We can pay two million up front!”
  • “Do I look like I need your money? I couldn't care less about your five million!” Aleph retorted with a sneer.
  • He then glanced at Vivian, who was curled up on the floor, as he continued, “I'll be honest with you guys here. This b*tch got so scared when I threatened to gang-rape her that she told me she has an older sister who is a lot prettier than her. She promised to summon her sister as long as we didn't gang-rape her.”
  • Aleph shifted his gaze toward Serena and said with a sadistic smile, “Looks like this b*tch was telling the truth, after all. I'll release your sister if you keep me company for a night. What do you say?”
  • Serena was in so much shock as she stared at Vivian that she didn't even hear what Aleph said.
  • Her vision then faded to black as her body went limp.
  • Eric quickly stepped forward to hold her steady before glaring viciously at Aleph. “What did you just say?”
  • Surprised that Eric would dare resist, Aleph turned to look at Eric, whom he had been ignoring the whole time, only to fall off the couch in shock.
