• “I’ve basically bought this club,” Francis said, a little moved. “I’ve run into some personal trouble. If the coaches hadn’t stepped in right on time, I wouldn’t have known what to do. And none of that was in their normal job description.”
• Waldo chimed in, “If you hadn’t bought the club, Mr. Quilter, we’d still be out there handing out promotional flyers on the street. We should be thanking you. From now on, we’re in this together—let’s run this place right.”
