- "Please..." I breathed, transfixed to the spot. He stopped right in front of me. He was so close and I was trying not to panic. He sniffed me and I closed my eyes. As soon as I closed my eyes, he snarled at me. My eyes flew open at once. I placed a shaky hand on his neck, my fingers sinking into fur as black as midnight.
- "It's me, Jaden. I'm your mate. Yours" I whispered.
