Chapter 3 Trouble In Red Heels

  • JADEN
  • Kissing a stranger was definitely not what I wanted to do tonight. The problem was that I couldn't pull away. The seductress had me entrapped. She was a hell of a kisser. I could already feel my wolf stirring within me.
  • Turns out my wolf wasn't the only thing stirring. The front part of my jeans suddenly felt too tight for comfort, thanks to the woman who was kissing me so sensually. Believe it or not, it wasn't something I wanted to do in front of my beta and gamma. When I eventually tried to pull away, I suddenly felt like I couldn't control myself. I placed a hand on the curve of her waist and drew her closer to me.
  • It was at this point that my wolf started to grow so excited, I could barely hold it back. I was finally able to pull away and when I did, I found myself staring at a beautiful pair of grey eyes.
  • 'Mate!' Tarus growled and my mind instantly shut down. I took a step away from her, unable to believe it. She licked her lips and my body reacted even when I tried not to let it.
  • "Al-" Klaus began to say and I quickly cut him off.
  • "Let's go"
  • I turned away from her, my mind reeling.
  • Mate?
  • How?
  • "Stop following us, woman" I heard Klaus say. I turned around and sure enough, the shameless woman was still following us.
  • "Have you no self respect? You show up out of nowhere. Then, you kiss me. Now, you're following me? What's your problem?" I hissed.
  • She smiled at me. I was surprised by this.
  • "You enjoyed the kiss, didn't you?" She teased and my eyes widened.
  • Who the hell is this woman? How on Earth is she my mate? Have I been cursed?
  • "Some werewolves are trying to kill me" she whispered as she drew closer to me.
  • "Why would...Wait, how do you know about werewolves?" I asked and she gave me a sly smile that made me even more uncomfortable.
  • "I just know. I can also tell that you're a werewolf. Your eyes, they glowed a bright crimson when we pulled away. I don't know if you're the alpha. But, I've never seen any werewolf with such red eyes before" she rambled. Klaus exchanged glances with me, a blank look on his face.
  • "So, what do you want from me?" I demanded and she grinned.
  • "Just for tonight, I want to come with you. I'm too afraid to sleep in my house tonight. You can take me to your alpha if you want" she said and Klaus growled under his breath.
  • "Are you the alpha? I'm sorry, I didn't--"
  • "Shut up, will you? You can come with us. But, you have to be quiet and you also have to keep your hands and lips to yourself, do you understand?"
  • "Understood," she said, giving me a mock military salute.
  • "She's crazy, alpha," Trisha said to me through the mindlink.
  • "Are you sure about this, alpha?" Klaus said through the mindlink.
  • "Yes," I replied.
  • As we walked, it rained harder and she rubbed her upper arms, a small smile on her face. She seemed cold and was also soaking wet. I grabbed her by the arm and pulled her closer, until she was under the umbrella as well. She gazed at me, a strange look in her eyes. I could see the swell of her full breasts through her wet night dress and it wasn't helping matters. So, I kept my gaze away from her.
  • When we got to the pack house, I made Trisha help her clean up. Then, I went into my study with Klaus, my Beta and Darryl, my Gamma.
  • "It's so unlike you to bring a woman into the pack house," Darryl pointed out and I heaved a sigh, rubbing my temples.
  • "I couldn't just leave her there. Besides, she was telling the truth about werewolves wanting to kill her"
  • "I couldn't read her aura. She's definitely not a mere human. She could be a thief or an assassin. There's nothing certain about her," Klaus stated.
  • I shook my head.
  • "One thing is certain about her, she is crazy" I said and they nodded in agreement.
  • "We won't question your decision, alpha. You probably have your reasons for bringing her in," Klaus commented.
  • "Keep in mind that rut season begins by tomorrow midnight. She won't be safe here," he added, and I leaned back on my seat.
  • "She's only staying for tonight"
  • ...
  • Blowing out a breath, I slipped off my shirt and grabbed a white towel. I'd been working out for the past three hours. It's what I do when I can't sleep. I've had insomnia for quite a while now and when I actually fall asleep, my sleep would be plagued by dreadful nightmares. The door to the gym creaked open and I turned around, surprised to see the woman who'd kissed me earlier. She was wearing a white T-shirt and a pair of pink sweatpants with her hair pulled back into a ponytail. Her vanilla scent set my senses on fire and my wolf started to go crazy again.
  • "Ooo, sexy" she commented, a sly smile on her face. I blinked, not finding it amusing.
  • "What are you doing here?" I asked and she shrugged. I couldn't help but notice how beautiful she was.
  • "I couldn't sleep. There was no one I could talk to. Your patrol wolves are so stoic. Gosh, they give me the creeps."
  • "That doesn't explain why you're in here," I droned, lowering the white towel I'd been using.
  • Her eyes went wide, the moment she stared at the scar on the side of my stomach.
  • "That scar....how did you get it?" She asked as she moved closer to me, her brows knitted.
  • "It's none of your business," I said and she stared at me, a look of sympathy in her eyes. It made my stomach churn.
  • "I've seen the exact scar before, multiple times" she told me and I stiffened.
  • "What?" I frowned.
  • "In my dreams. I never see his face. But, that scar... I always see it. It's okay if you don't want to tell me. It's just really strange."
  • I stared at her, knowing that she was indeed telling the truth. She'd probably dreamed of me because of the effect of the mate bond.
  • "I'm sorry I kissed you. It was a last minute thing. I was just really desperate. I apologise for ruining your night. By tomorrow morning, I'll be out of your hair," she said and left the gym. I sat down on a bench and facepalmed.
  • 'Mate' my wolf whined and I scowled. I wasn't ready to accept her, not after losing Sheila. Maybe her leaving was for the best. I hoped that this would be the last time we would meet.
  • ....
  • "She left this morning. And, guess what," Darryl said to me, the next morning.
  • "Did something happen?"
  • "She emptied the refrigerator, Jaden" He said and I snorted.
  • "So, she's a thief."
  • "It appears so. But, that's not all she stole," Klaus said and I frowned.
  • "What else did she steal?"
  • "Sheila's necklace"
  • "What?!"
  • "Find her, now!" I ordered.
  • "Yes, alpha" they chorused and left the gym. I noticed the unfamiliar golden necklace pendant lying on the floor. I walked towards it and picked it up.
  • The head of the necklace pendant was shaped like a lotus. It seemed to belong to the thief. A dark smile curved my lips. She was definitely nothing but trouble.
  • ...
  • RHEA
  • When I arrived in front of my home or what used to be my home, I felt my heart shatter in it's cage. The werewolves had burnt down my house. I clenched my fist, anger simmering inside of me. I hadn't even stolen much from them. But, they had taken everything from me. Angry tears pricked my eyes and I clenched my fists tighter, my nails digging into the palm of my hand.
  • How could they do this to me?
  • "What do I do now? Where do I go?" I muttered, staring down at the house slides I'd stolen from the pack house I'd spent the night at.
  • Letting out a sigh, I slipped my hand into the pocket of the sweatpant I was wearing. There was something in it. When I took it out, I realized that the object was actually a credit card.
  • "Holy Shit," I breathed, my eyes wide.
  • All I needed to do was use my magic to trick the cashier. It was that simple.
  • I made my way to a shopping mall where I purchased some indoor clothes, a black dress and red stilettos. Don't judge me, red's my favorite color. Besides, a girl has to survive, either by hook or crook. After getting dressed, I realized that my lotus necklace was missing.
  • "I have no choice but to find Mr Sexy," I sighed.
  • 'Well, you've been fantasizing about him all day, so why not?' the small voice at the back of my mind said.
  • I exhaled slowly and closed my eyes, picturing Mr Sexy. I mumbled a tracking spell under my breath. Then, I started to walk. Stares were being thrown my way. Nevertheless, I ignored them. When I finally arrived at my destination, I found myself standing in front of the bar I'd run into, the previous night. Taking a deep breath, I pushed the glass door in. There he was, sitting on one of the stools. When he saw me, his gaze darkened. I grinned and started to make my way towards him. I held out a hand, our gazes locked.
  • "I believe you have something that belongs to me."
