Chapter 66 The Whole Company Knows Nora Clarke Is a Divorced Castoff

  • Dolla Clarke had just lifted a shy smile at his first words when Jordan Dawson’s last three syllables slammed her back into place. Humiliation, mostly rage. She stared, eyes blown wide, and snapped, voice rising, “I’m not worthy? How am I worse than Nora Clarke—she’s worthy, huh?!”
  • Jordan’s narrowed eyes were a dark warning, danger humming low. “From where I stand, you don’t even have the right to be compared to Nora. Keep pushing for a reason, and you’re just asking to be humiliated.” He figured he’d been out of his mind to agree to see Dolla at all. Jealousy makes people lose their heads. But he refused to admit he was jealous of the mystery man Nora had tucked away. Pointless and fruitless, the wasted time only made him more irritable. “Ms. Clarke, see yourself out.”
  • Dolla wasn’t smart enough to quit while she was ahead. With Jordan’s judgment ringing in her ears, she lost it and spat, “You really think Nora’s that great? She cheated and made you look like a fool. She’s just a cheap, fickle tramp.”
